New Documents Report
KB037 – Functionality to report on new documents added to Volume
The New Documents report details what documents have been added to Volume, the method in which they were added, and by which user. The report was introduced in v5.3 of Volume. No historical information will exist for previous versions.
1
Within Volume go to ‘Reports’ and then ‘New Documents…’. Click ‘Apply’ to populate the report.
2
Filter the report using the Paperwork Source.
- Drag and Drop – This is when documents are dragged and dropped directly into Volume from folders in Windows.
- Hot Folder – This is usually from stand-alone network scanners (Multi-function Devices) that create documents in Windows folders which Volume automatically imports.
- Office Integration – This is when using the Volume add-in for Microsoft’s Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Scanned – This is when using a USB directly connected scanner that has TWAIN drivers. Some network scanners can also be configured to use TWAIN drivers and connect directly to the PC over the network.
- Virtual Printing – This is when documents are created from the virtual printers ‘Volume’ and ‘Volume in Colour’.
3
Specify the document creation date using the Date From and Date To option.
The report lists the Session number which groups all the pages created at the same time. If a document box is subsequently split up and the pages are distributed around the system, the Session number will still group the pages together.
4
Double click on a report entry to view the Session’s pages.
5
Click ‘View’ to display the page. TIFF and JPEGs will be opened within the Volume Viewer. For other pages, Volume will prompt for you to be taken to the page’s location in the file. The page will be highlighted in blue.
Please Note: Access rights to files in cabinets are still respected.
